Griesser, H. et al.: "Prognostic Significance of HPV Vaccine Protein L1 Detection with Cytoactiv”
is the latest cytoactiv study and has been published on the occasion of the 27th international HPV congress in Berlin. This international multi-center study with over 800 mild and moderate dysplasias is so far the largest prospective randomized study to detect HPV L1 with cytoactiv. The results of this study are: there is a low potential for progression in cytoactiv positive PapIIID, in a productive HPV infection, so that a wait-and-see attitude with cytological smear examinations would be entirely justified in order to avoid overtreatment.
However, there is a high potential for progression in cytoactiv negative PapIIID, in a non-productive HPV infection or precancerosis, so that a close monitoring would be advisable in terms of colposcopies and histological clarification.
